What is OnTech?

At OnTech, we pride ourselves in helping you achieve the smart home of your dreams. We offer professional, hassle-free installation plus product mastery via face-to-face instruction on all your smart home devices.

How do I schedule a service?

First, add the appropriate installation service(s) to your shopping cart. Next, select your preferred day and time of appointment based on current availability, which may include next-day or sometimes even same-day appointments.

What is priority appointment?

When available in your area, you will have the option to add Priority Appointment to your order for $20 and have access to our earliest time slot.

When will my technician arrive?

Prior to your scheduled service appointment, OnTech will contact you: (i) the day before your service appointment and (ii) one hour before the estimated arrival time of your technician.

What is your cancellation and rescheduling policy?

Once your order is placed, you may only make service changes or cancellations by contacting OnTech Customer Support. To reschedule your service, please go to your Account page and under My Orders, click on Reschedule Service and choose your new date and time.

For service cancellations or to reschedule your appointment, please contact us at least 12 hours prior to your appointment. If you fail to cancel your appointment prior to OnTech’s arrival or if no adult is present at the service location, you may be charged a $35 “Failed Service Appointment Fee” to the payment information on file.

Is OnTech available in my area?

OnTech is available nationwide across the USA, covering every U.S. zip code, including Alaska and Hawaii.

What are your hours?

OnTech offers in-home service appointments seven days a week, from 8:00am-6:00pm daily in the US, except during national holidays.

Is my service guaranteed?

We provide a 60-day workmanship warranty on all service(s) following the installation date. In the event you (i) notify OnTech of a defect in workmanship of services within 60 days of the installation date and (ii) we confirm the existence of such defect of workmanship, we will correct such defect.

This service warranty: (a) does not apply to any defects resulting, in whole or in part, from your or third-party acts or omissions (including, without limitation, abuse or misuse of the products or devices); (b) does not apply to any products or devices (including, without limitation, any defects in the products or devices); and (c) is non-transferable.

Can I make changes to my appointment?

Once your order is placed, you may only make service changes or cancellations by contacting OnTech Customer Support.

 

To reschedule your service, please go to your Account page and under My Orders, click on Reschedule Service and choose your new date and time.

How skilled are your technicians?

Our technicians are smart home experts, having received extensive product and installation training. Plus, all in-home technicians must pass a thorough background check which includes driving records and drug screen.

Can I arrange additional services with my technician?

Yes, your OnTech technician can quote additional services during your appointment, which typically can be completed during the same visit, time allowing.

Can I book the same technician for future visits?

We can accommodate some requests, but please note some of our techs are experts in different areas. As such, we want to ensure we send the right tech for the service requested.

How am I billed for service?

OnTech will charge your preferred payment method on file when you click “Place Order.” If you request and approve additional services during your appointment, your OnTech technician will take payment at that time.

OnTech+ Membership General FAQ

Is OnTech+ a subscription service?

Yes, OnTech+ subscribers receive personalized Smart Home service, unlimited tech support, and members-only pricing on the most trusted Smart Home brands. OnTech offers yearly subscriptions for $199.00 - Included with your subscription:

How does the OnTech+ membership work?

When you become an OnTech+ Member, you instantly get personalized service, unlimited tech support and members-only pricing on the most trusted Smart Home brands. Your OnTech+ Membership includes one free standard installation (any Smart Home installation priced @ $159.99 or less), and at least 10% off other products and services (bundles excluded). Just sign into your account to access your benefits, and the discounted pricing and your first free installation will be applied automatically!

How do I sign up for an OnTech+ Membership?

To purchase an OnTech+ Membership, you can simply visit the Membership Page, or speak with your technician while they are on-site. If you're unsure if a membership is right for you, you can purchase an installation. Whether you purchase the membership online or through your technician, you'll instantly begin saving at least 10% on all your other purchases.

How do I redeem my included installation?

You can add installations alongside a membership in your cart; one installation will list @ $0.00 and subsequent installations will be discounted 10%. You can also save your free installation for a later date at anytime over the year, but please note that as a member, you cannot purchase installations now while putting your free installation on hold for a later date. Once you've purchased your OnTech Membership, the next installation you add to your cart will be discounted. If your free installation is still available, you simply add one standard installation to your cart and it will be discounted to $0.00.

Unsure if you're used your one free installation? When you've logged into your account, you can also see your unused (if any) installation listed in the membership section of your account page.

How do I redeem my product and installation discounts?

When you are logged in to your account as an OnTech+ Member, you'll automatically see your discounts reflected across the site. Whether you're viewing a product and/or installation page, or viewing your chosen products in your cart, you should always see the normal price along with your OnTech+ Member discount pricing. Your total savings are also listed in the membership section of your account page.

Do I have to use my FREE installation right now?

Nope! You can use your free installation at any time over course of a year following your OnTech+ Membership purchase. Please note: once you've purchased your OnTech+ membership, the first standard installation you add to your cart will be discounted. Once you become an OnTech+ member, it is not possible to purchase installations now and also save your free installation for a later date. Once you're a member, the very next standard installation you purchase will be discounted. If you'd like to schedule an installation at a later date, just make sure you're logged in to your account so you will see your available free installation and discounted pricing.

Do all installations qualify for the free installation included with my membership?

Your membership includes one (1) free standard installation that is normally priced $159.99 or below. Currently the TV Mounting & Installation as well as the Ring Retrofit Alarm Kit are not available as free installations but they are available for your 10% discount.

What if I don't want to use my free installation right now?

No problem! You can use your free installation at any time over course of a year following your OnTech+ Membership purchase. Are all purchases eligible for the membership 10% discount?

To keep up to date on all of OnTech's member-exclusive offers, promotions and announcements, just ensure that you've selected 'Marketing Emails' checkbox in your account page when logged in to our site.

How will you use the personal information I provide through my membership?

Please review the OnTech privacy policy to educate yourself on how OnTech handles your personal information.

Do I have a membership # or card?

Not at this time, but you can check your membership status by logging into your account on our site. When the technician is visiting your residence, they will be able to verify your membership without you needing a membership card or #.

Are any services or products excluded from my OnTech+ Membership?

Currently the TV Mounting & Installation, Retrofit Alarm Kit installation, and Wifi Security Kit Installations are not included in the free installation portion of your OnTech+ Membership, but they are available for your 10% member discount (bundles excluded).

Membership benefits will not apply to bundles, or products and services offered on behalf of the following partners:

OnTech+ Membership Billing FAQ

Can I purchase a membership from a technician in my home?

Absolutely. If a technician is already visiting your home, you can purchase a membership and begin using your benefits now. Your 10% off discount is effective immediately upon purchase of your membership, and you can use your discounted(free) installation at a time of your choosing.

Is the OnTech+ membership a monthly or annual payment?

OnTech+ memberships are currently annual.

If I purchase a membership after I purchase an installation, is that installation now free?

We can use your installation purchase price towards the price of the membership, so you can instantly take advantage of its benefits.

Can I return my membership?

You may cancel this membership and receive a refund for the next 30 days if none of your membership benefits have been used. Please contact OnTech Customer Support. Once you use any benefit or 30 days have elapsed, no credits or refunds will be issued after cancellation.

When does my membership expire?

Your OnTech+ Membership will expire 364 days after your purchase date. You can always check this expiration date by logging into your account page and checking the membership tab.

Will my membership automatically renew?

Auto-renewal is not available at this time.

How do I check my membership status?

When you're logged into your account page, you can view your membership status on the membership tab. Your account page also allows you to check 'Where's my Tech?' status, order history, account information and more.

Are my purchases made in addition to my membership purchase discounted 10%?

Yes. When you have the membership loaded into your shopping cart, any other item in your cart will be discounted at the membership 10% discount.

Can I purchase a multi-year OnTech+ Membership?

OnTech+ memberships are currently annual and can currently only be purchased a one (1) year at time.

Will my 10% discount be valid on next years' OnTech+ Membership?

Once you have purchased your OnTech+ Membership, the ability to purchase another membership under the same account is not available until your membership expires.

Are there any exclusions to the membership?

Bundles and certain installations priced over $159.99 are not included with your OnTech+ Membership, these include: TV Mounting & Installation 51" or Larger, Ring Retrofit Alarm Kit Installations. Your OnTech+ Membership 10% discount would apply to those installations, however.

Is my payment data stored with OnTech for future installations?

Your payment data for your membership is not stored with OnTech or its payment processors.

Is my OnTech+ Membership upgradeable?

Not at this time, but if we expand the program and you're subscribed to our marketing newsletter, you'll be informed about all program announcements.

Can I transfer my membership to someone else?

Your OnTech+ Membership is not transferrable.

Can I put my membership on hold?

It is not possible to put your OnTech+ membership on hold.

How do I cancel my membership?

You can cancel your membership at any time, but refunds on your membership are only available during the first 30 days since purchase, and only if you haven't used your benefits. Please contact OnTech Customer Support if you have any questions about cancelling your membership.

What is OnTech's return policy on products and devices?

You will have up to 60 days to return or exchange all products and devices purchased on the OnTech Site or during an OnTech On-Site Service Appointment. Shipping and service charges are nonrefundable.
